In our report of the murder near Melbourne, our informant got the name wrong. It was Mrs. Ed. Shirley instead of Ed. Stewart. A man named "Bump" Davidson has been placed under arrest, charged with the crime.

Amanda Shirley was murdered in her own home by person unknown on September 17, 1911 in her home a few miles north of Melbourne in the Cat Creek neighborhood.
